City of San Bernardino students are invited to join the Electric Vehicle (EV) Training Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Crestview Terrace.
Uplift San Bernardino at the Making Hope Happen Foundation, Green Paradigm Consulting, Next Education, National CORE, and SBCUSD students, with grant support from the California Air Resources Board, worked together to develop and co-designed an introductory electric vehicle infrastructure and electrification career opportunities training.
The On-Site Electric Vehicle (EV) Training Workshop is a no-cost opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to experience the fundamentals of a career in electrification.
The workshop focuses on providing students with an abbreviated description of jobs in the electric vehicle industry and the duties of the occupation along with the credentials needed for the occupation, including education, training, certification, or licensure.
This is a one-day workshop in person at the Crestview Terrace Community Room located at 575 E. Baseline Street in San Bernardino. Students will attend workshops on EV careers, as well as increasing opportunities for post high school electrification career, networking and other career readiness skills.
All participants will receive a completion certificate at the end of the workshop and will be eligible for a CARB student paid internship program.
Eligible candidates are current high school juniors and seniors with a 2.5 GPA or higher, reside or attend school in the City of San Bernardino and view pre-training recorded session. Special considerations will be made for first generation students, low-income households, youth in foster care, youth experiencing homelessness, unaccompanied minors (minor not living with either parent).
Applicants are encouraged to apply early as the applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the workshop is full. Interested candidates may apply HERE.
