The Making Hope Happen Foundation has announced the addition of Ruben Mendoza as its housing associate supporting Uplift San Bernardino’s Housing Pipeline Impact Team.
Ruben is an experienced advocate for housing, serving in various capacities at Interagency Council on Homelessness, Young Leaders Advisory Council at California Forward, and as a Peer Outreach and Housing Navigator with the Union Station Homeless Services. Through his work, Ruben has advocated at the local and state level in the policy-making process relating to at-risk youth services, worked in strengthening local capacity to maximize participation in middle density development and the creation of a BIPOC developer fund to reduce barriers for small-scale developers of color. In his role as a housing associate, Ruben will work to advance the development of affordable housing production primarily within the City of San Bernardino. As a native of the Inland Empire, Ruben is passionate about contributing to the development of a more inclusive and thriving community that is self-sustaining while meeting the needs of its residents, regardless of their life-stage.
