Uplift San Bernardino Internship Connects Students with Local Small Businesses

Uplift San Bernardino’s Small Business Resource Group (SBRG) at the Making Hope Happen Foundation is excited to announce a new internship program designed to foster connections between local students and small businesses. The program aims to promote the resources available through the  SBRG partners and provide students with valuable hands-on experience.

Program Overview

The internship program offers students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in business development and community outreach. Interns will visit local small businesses, introduce them to the SBRG, and collect information about their specific resource needs. This data will be used to tailor the SBRG’s services and ensure that they meet the evolving needs of the small business community.

Student Eligibility

To be eligible for the internship program, students must:

  • Be currently enrolled at a participating institution
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have reliable transportation to designated commercial corridors

Program Stipend

Interns will receive a stipend of $1,500 for completing 60 hours of work.

Student Responsibilities

Interns will be responsible for:

  • Researching and preparing for business visits
  • Conducting outreach to small businesses
  • Collecting and submitting visit reports
  • Attending weekly meetings with the program coordinator

Target Businesses

The program will focus on small businesses located within designated commercial corridors that may not be familiar with the SBRG.

Program Goals

The internship program aims to:

  • Connect students with local small businesses
  • Promote the resources available through the SBRG
  • Gather data on the needs of the business community
  • Foster a stronger sense of community and collaboration
