Our Mission
Together, we are building a generation of successful adults committed to growing roots in San Bernardino.
San Bernardino’s kids are smart, resilient, and motivated to make a difference in their hometown. They hope for a bright future here. And our community can offer it to them, if we come together to remove barriers and smooth the path they must travel to success at home.
You see, San Bernardino is home to top tier education institutions and thousands of quality jobs. Yet today we also have among the lowest education and highest poverty levels in the nation. Aligning our programs and systems to address the disconnect between opportunity and success will uplift the people who call San Bernardino home.
Uplift San Bernardino at the Making Hope Happen Foundation is all about this work. We believe our youth hold the keys to a more prosperous future for our city. We’re working together empower them to find success and grow roots here.
Our Strategic Framework For Change
Launching our future workforce into local careers
Our work will improve access to local opportunities for our youth. We're aligning K16 pathways with local business & industry, incentivizing youth to pursue their future here, and helping them gain valuable experience through internships.
Igniting upward mobility in the local market
Youth will have opportunities to advance and know how to maximize success when they achieve it. Our collective work will increase entrepreneurialism, financial literacy, digital access and professional networks among the next generation.
Fostering conditions for growing roots here
San Bernardino already has a wealth of opportunity - culture, family, jobs, higher education, and smart kids. Together we will strengthen our community around them. We're inspiring investments in developing our neighborhoods, improving safety, enhancing community pride, and creating opportunities for small businesses to thrive.

Our transformational work provides the glue to keep a community focused on the same goal. We're facilitating communication, monitoring our impact, and learning together. The Making Hope Happen Foundation is the backbone organization for Uplift San Bernardino and the combined efforts of a variety of aligned collaborative works.
