The Inland Regional Energy Network, I-REN,  has opened registration for its Energy Code Trainings.

I-REN’s vision is to connect residents, businesses and local government to a wide range of energy efficiency resources to increase energy savings and equitable access throughout San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

For us to provide the most needed building energy code resources to those who work in the Inland Empire building sector, please take this survey: For local or regional government Building Inspectors, Chief Building Officials, Permit Technicians, Plans Examiners, Planners, or similar role, start here.  For Contractors, Designers, Architects, Energy Consultants, or another similar role, start here.

To request an in-person or live on-line training specifically for your building department staff, email [email protected] and provide the following information:

  • Requested training(s)
  • Preferred date(s) and time(s)
  • Expected number of attendees from your jurisdiction (if space allows, we will open trainings to staff from other jurisdictions as well in order to maximize training opportunities)

I-REN Codes & Standards Instructors are accessible online from Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., to provide education to local building departments in the Inland Empire region regarding the requirements of the 2022 Energy Code (Title 24, Part 6). They offer guidance on plan check reviews, field inspections processes, and effective strategies to enhance code compliance and enforcement. These services are provided at no cost.
